skills. At the high school level (Interacting in Your World)
, students study the basic four areas plus the area of
Employability social skills.
The curriculum training
is available in a two-day or three-day format, dependent on the
contracting system's needs. These formats include the following:
- 2 - Day Training
Format: this training session is for all (or any one) of
the Curriculum series, involving participants in mini-lectures, demonstrations, role plays and
"mini-teaching" situations. The focus of the
training is to give participants "hands-on"
experience with the curriculum materials, effective methods
and techniques to teach students coping skills, social
skills and a goal setting process for school, community and
work settings. Emphasis in the training is given to
developing effective teaching skills using nonverbal and
verbal communication, designing and leading effective
discussions, redirecting inappropriate behaviors,
facilitating student decision- making and modeling effective
social and coping skills for all settings.
- 3 - Day Training
Format: this training session includes the information
in the 2 -day format plus a day of Trainers Training to
enable school systems to have on-site trainers in the
materials for new teachers and for annual training purposes.
Trainers training provides workshop scripts masters for
transparencies and handouts and information on becoming an
effective communicator/presenter. Trainers are designated by
the contracting school system and must meet the Trainer
Criteria attached to this information.
- Materials Cost:
Materials are not included in the workshop fee and must be
purchased separately. Curriculums for all levels are $85.00
ea. and workbooks for all levels are $7.95 ea.

Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Crane/Reynolds, Inc.
provides three (3) options for training your staff in Behavior
Intervention Plans (BIPs). Please review the following
information to see which option is best for your system:
Option 1: One-day
Inservice training - Workshop information addresses the
new IDEA regulations for BIPs, 504 regulations and BIP
Components. Information includes suggested procedures for
developing behavioral IEP goals with objectives, classroom
management plans and contingency plans for discipline options
individualized for students. Participants develop all three
components of the BIP for a student based on information in
the student's audit folder. The forms are released for
modification at no charge to the school system.
Option 2: Two-day
Inservice training - Workshop information is provided
to two separate audiences: participants to be trained in
BIP Workshop and the Administrators and support staff involved
in policy and procedure information. 1.5 days of the
in-service is provided to the participants to be trained in
the BIP workshop, addressing the information in Option 1
coupled with more intensive training in developing discipline
options for individual students and campuses. The second half
of day 2 is directed to Administrators and support staff who
are involved in development of procedures and forms for
effective BIPs. C/R, Inc. will review current forms, discuss
possible modifications and help develop procedures and forms
with staff using C/R's BIP procedure and form prototypes.
Option 3: Trainers
Training with Options 1 or 2- Workshops include all
information and training covered in Option 1 or 2 plus 1 day
of Trainers Training in the BIP Workshop. For school systems
who are interested in adopting Crane/Reynolds workshop
materials for on-going staff training, we suggest that the
school system designate personnel to become trainers. Trainers
training provides scripts, masters for transparencies and
handouts, and presentation skills.
